There are several types of gearboxes. Some are known as helical gear reducers, while others are called planetary gearboxes. The teeth of a planetary gearbox are formed by the stepping motion of two gears: the sun gear and the inner ring. The sun gear is the input, while the planetary gears rotate around the sun gear.
